WWE Raw returned and backstage we joined MVP and Bobby Lashley as they talked with Ron Simmons, who told them there was a better way. What he was up to is anyone’s guess as we didn’t hear anything more before he walked off
MVP then set his sights on R-Truth and called him over for a recruitment speech.
Truth made the mistake of mocking the new United States Championship belt, saying it was a cook mock championship, and then pointing out Apollo Crews is the real champion.
But it seemed that MVP still has aspirations on recruiting R-Truth, but he used the term new 24/7 Champion.
As Truth tried to figure out what he meant, Lashley pulled a referee in, and when Truth turned around, Shelton Benjamin nailed Truth and pinned him to win the 24/7 Championship.
Shelton Benjamin then officially joined the Hurt Business as we headed to commercial.
WWE Raw came back to MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin heading to the ring.
MVP announced that he’s the new United States Champion and didn’t have to break a sweat. He gave credit to Lashley for injuring Apollo Crews so badly he couldn’t compete.
He said they’d celebrate after they finish dealing with Ricochet and Cedric Alexander, referring to them as Dumb and Dumber and stubborn, thick skulled, kids, etc.
Answering the call
Ricochet and Cedric Alexander then arrived on the stage to call out MVP, and promised they’d be champions again without MVP.
MVP offered to let them pick whichever of the two of the Hurt Business to face them since they didn’t have a partner, but they said they had someone that was making their return.
Their partner? Mustafa Ali.
It was great to see him back. He received a heroes welcome from two thirds of the announcing team as he readied to join the fun.
Lashley charged them, and Ricochet and Alexander ducked his clothesline and Ali hit Lashley with a superkick, they hit him with double superkicks before Ricochet and Alexander cleared the ring.
Ricochet, Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali vs. Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin
WWE Raw came back from commercial with the match just starting with Lashley and Ricochet in the ring to start.
Alexander tagged himself in, and Lashley had little trouble mauling him as Alexander’s attacks had hardly any effect just like Ricochet’s.
With Benjamin in the ring, he had a quick pin attempt on Alexander, then tagged in MVP.
MVP tried a handful of pin attempts, but Alexander continued to kick out.
Alexander’s brief resurgence was halted by Benjamin, who then drove Alexander back into the Hurt Business’ corner.
Alexander again fought back, this time against MVP, but his momentum was quickly stopped and he found himself back into the Hurt Business corner. Ricochet tagged himself in, and when Benjamin was down, tagged Ali in.
Benjamin rolled out of the ring as we went to commercial
WWW Raw returned with Benjamin in control over Ricochet after Benjamin hit him with a knee strike during the commercial break.
Lashley continued to dominate Ricochet and tagged in Benjamin. After countering Benjamin with a kick, they tagged in Ali and MVP, and Ali took it to MVP and Lashley broke up his pin attempt after he hit MVP with an X-Factor.
Outside, all three knocked Lashley over the announcer’s table, and Ricochet took out Benjamin as MVP hit Ali with a knee.
MVP missed with a kick and Ali hit with a neckbreaker and his 450 splash for the pin on MVP and the win.
