WWE Raw Results and Recap (7/27) - Raw Women's Championship Match - Sasha Banks Defeated Asuka

The Golden Role Models took the ring and they had to grab some mics.

Sasha Banks said no one likes a bully, and Stephanie McMahon is bullying her by forcing her to face Asuka.

She claimed Stephanie is jealous because they won the whole company.

Bayley added that they fight and stand against injustice, hence how and why she counted Banks’ pin on Asuka.

Bayley closed by saying when Banks forced Asuka to tap out, Asuka would be the empress of nothing.

Interesting enough, Kairi Sane came out with Asuka despite last week supposed to be her final Raw taping. Maybe they meant the one they actually tapped last week?

As soon as the bell rang, Kairi Sane ran off Bayley as we headed to commercial.

It’s nice when we have these championship matches and they rarely start during a commercial.

Banks started it off with an elbow, then the two traded dropkicks before Asuka took control.

Asuka hit with a couple of kicks, but Banks countered with a rollup for a pin attempt, and Asuka had her own pin attempts.

Asuka locked in an arm bar that Banks broke when reaching the ropes.

Asuka missed a charge into the corner, and Banks yanked Asuka’s left leg through the ropes.

Banks hit with a Bank Statement for a near pin, then locked in a single-leg crap on Asuka’s left leg.

Banks tried to tie up Asuka’s legs for a submission, but Asuka kicked her out of the ring.

Banks threw a mini tantrum and threatened to leave with the championship but threw a belt into the ring.

While the referee removed that belt, banks readied to his Asuka with the other one. When the referee turned around, Banks threw it to Asuka and flopped like a fish, but the referee didn’t buy it.

Asuka then hit with a kick to Banks’ head as we headed to commercial.

    Asuka fights back

We came back to both women struggling to their feet. Banks continued to target Asuka’s injured leg and nearly had a couple of pinfalls.

Banks slapped on a standing ankle lock, but Asuka broke it with a kick to Banks’ back.

Banks continued talking smack, and Asuka took advantage to get a few shots in before she missed with a hip attack, and Banks slid under her to take out her leg.

Banks hit with a double knee for a near pinfall, than transitioned into a sitting single leg Boston crab hold.

Asuka fought out of the hold once again, but she was unable to capitalize.

Asuka hit with a back elbow then locked an ankle lock on Banks.

Banks rolled out of the ankle lock and sent Asuka face first into the middle turnbuckle.

A Double knee to Asuka set her up for an attempted splash, but Asuka caught her with her knees.

Both women were down and the referee started to count to ten, but they bth reached their feet.

A flurry of Blows led to Asuka kicking Banks’ left leg when she tried to cline the ropes.

Banks kicked out of a pin following a hip attack.

Banks countered a superplex with a headbutt, then hit with a splash but Asuka kicked out. Banks then locked in her Bank Statement.

Asuka countered into an Asuka Lock, but Banks shoved her out of the ring.

Outside the ring, Banks drove Asuka’s leg onto the announcer’s table and rolled into the ring so she could win via count out.

Asuka made it into the ring at nine, and Banks argued with the referee.

Asuka rolled Banks up, and Banks kicked out and countered with another Bank Statement.

Asuka rolled out of it and into an ankle lock, then hit with a missile dropkick.

Another kick dropped Banks and she followed it with a German suplex while she watched Bayley wiping out Kairi Sane on the titanrton.

Asuka was caught between choosing between her championship and helping Sane, and when Sane cried out for her, she ran to the back to help.

    Banks won by count out.

We figured this would happen, but it’s a garbage finish.

    Backstage post match

WWE Raw Results and Recap returned from commercial to kind it reported that Kairi Sane was in the trainer’s room receiving treatment when Bayley and Banks’ celebration popped in.

Asuka came out looking more than a little pissed.

We feel it’s safe to say Sasha Banks and Bayley better watch their backs. We may be seeing Asuka return to her NXT type of persona and this could make things interesting.
