Hello and welcome to another WWE Smackdown Live Recap! I’m your host, CP Bialois, and this is the last WWE Smackdown before Horror Show: Extreme Rules, so be sure to grab your snacks and drinks for a fun ride.
Segment 1
A new format is unveiled where all the promos for matches and segments cill teh first ten minutes and we’re onto the match.
Big E vs. Cesaro – Winner Names Match Stipulation for Extreme Rules
Big E dominates early, but never count Cesaro out.
Segment 2
Cesaro wins after Nakamura connects with a kick and Cesaro hits his Neutralizer.
Afterwards, Kingston saved Big E from going through a table, but Nakamura rescued Cesaro before Kingston could put Cesaro through the table.
Nakamura and Cesaro can now name their match stipulation for Sunday.
Segment 3
Backstage, Cesaro and Nakamura decide their match on Sunday will be a tables match.
A Moment of Bliss
After Alexa Bliss and Nikki cross bantered back and forth with Bayley and Sasha Banks, Eventually, the real special guest came out and it was… Asuka.
Asuka and Nikki Cross vs. Bayley and Sasha Banks comign after the break.
Segment 4
A fun back and forth match had Aasuka using some of Nikki Cross’ ring apron tactics to trap Banks, then Cross does the same to Bayley before the Cross and Asuka dance on the annoucner’s table as we go to comemrcial.
Segment 5
A great match continued, with Bayley pinning Cross by using the ropes for leverage.
Looks like it’s Morrison and Strowman after the commerical.
Segment 6
A chilling an awesome Firefly Fun House segment aired and we got to hear Bray Wyatt explain how Strowman failed to embrace the monster he was meant to be, so he ahs to “destroy the monster you have become.”
Braun Storwman vs. John Morrison
Strowman destoryed Morrison following an emotional rant about needing to destroy Wyatt before he becomes the Fiend, for the Fiend embodies everything Strowman is terrified of.
Segment 7
Lacey Evan vs. Naomi
An interesting match that ended after Evans tied Naomi’s hair to the second rope, then hit with a Woman’s Right for the win when she got free.
Sheamus ambushed Jeff Hardy during an interview and then promised he’d help him cleanse himself of his demons and would see him on next week’s WWE Smackdown.
Segment 8
Bayley and Banks were interviewed, and a frustrated Cross attacked them. Bliss eventually pulled her away while Bayley yelled Cross needed to be on a leash.
They then replayed the opeing promos between AJ Styles and Matt Riddle. The main event is next, but this just seems odd. Someone must’ve fallen asleep or something.
Segment 9
AJ Styles vs. Matt Riddle
The match starts with Styles getting the upper hand early, but Rille quickly frustrated him.
Segment 10
Riddle remained in control, but Styles kicked out following a Bro to Sleep and running knee as we headed to commercial.
Segment 11
Styles won by rolling Riddle over for a pin in a match that was more counters and dominance by Matt Riddle.
Styles offered his hand to Riddle out of respect, and King Corbin then attacked Riddle from behind as Styles slipped out, knowing it wasn’t his place to stay.
Corbin then hit with an End of Days to close the show out, cementing their feud for after the pay-per-view.
