Backstage Big E and Kofi Kingston are interviewed about their match.
When asked if New Day were underestimated them, they mocked the interviewer and pointed out Nakamura and Cesaro’s history, then citied Dennis Green’s “They are who we thought they were, and we let ‘em off the hook!” comment from 2006.
Karaoke Showdown hosted by Jey Uso and featuring Lacey Evans, Dana Brooke, Tamina, and Naomi
Each contestant will get 45 seconds to sign their favorite WWE theme song
Lacey Evans chose Jeff Jarrett’s “With my Baby Tonight.” Um…
Dana Brooke chose The Honky Tonk Man’s “Cool, Cocky, Bad” and she was thankfully interrupted by Uso. Thank you, sir.
Tamina chose Triple H’s “The Game.” She was stopped early, too. She got a little too into the head banging.
Naomi chose Dusty Rhode’s “Common Man.” Naomi is the best by far with Lacey a close second.
The fans chose Naomi with the biggest pop of the night.
She started to sing an encore, but Evans took exception and attacked her as we go to commercial.
Only Vince McMahon would subject us to this.
Naomi vs. Lacey Evans
Of course, this had to happen immediately following a dustup. I think I have a headache now.
The two squared off in their singing clothes and not their ring attire in what started as little more then a brawl.
Naomi gained the upper hand after a couple of kicks to Evans’ head, and Evans rolled out of the ring. She then shoved Dana Brooke to the ground. Brooke got into her face, telling her she’s better than this. Lacey then shoved Tamina, and then all but Evans were in the ring brawling with each other as Evans left the ring. Interesting choice of a heel turn for Evans.
Backstage, AJ Style is congratulated on his title defense last week, and Styles responded by saying it’s a waste of his time if he has to face people like Drew Gulak, claiming he’s going to hold onto his title for a long time.
He was then told he will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Matt Riddle last week.
This segment was largely a time suck most of us may want back.
