Impact Wrestling Results and Recap (8/25) – Emergence Night 2 – Impact World Championship – Eddie Edwards (c) Defeated Rob Van Dam (w/Katie Forbes)

Hello and welcome to Impact Wrestling Results as we’re getting ready to dive into Emergence Night 2.

This looks like it’s going to be an awesome card, and we can’t wait to get started.

After a recap of last week’s Emergence Night 1, we jump right into the action.

Impact Wrestling World Championship Eddie Edwards (c) vs. Rob Van Dam (W/Katie Forbes)

RVD took Eddie Edwards up on his open invitation and he made it to the ring without Sami Callihan jumping him. It’s got to happen at some point.

They started it off with a lockup and RVD went to a waist lock, then countered a arm bar into a headlock.

Off the ropes, RVD displayed his customary athleticism by flipping over Edwards before Edward caught him and threw him out of the ring.

Edward missed his first suicide dive to the outside of the ring, and RVD sent him back into the ring, then took a minute to celebrate with Forbes.

Edwards then hit with his suicide dive attempt, and Edward beat on RVD outside of the ring with Forbes following him and chirping in his ear.

RVD took advantage of the distraction to send Edwards face first into the ring post, then draped Edward over the security railing.

After breaking the referee’s count, RVD hit with a spinning kick from the ring apron.

RVD threw Edwards into the ring for a near pinfall.

Edwards fought back with some hard chops, and the pair exchanged blows before Forbes nailed Edward in the ropes, and RVD hit with a split legged moonsault.

RVD followed it up with a clothesline in the corner, but Edwards countered an Irish whip with a pop up power bomb but he couldn’t take advantage of it.

After another exchange, Edwards hit with a Tiger Driver, but RVD kicked out at two.

RVD fought out of a superplex and dropped Edward on the ropes, then hit with a kick, followed by Rollin Thunder.

RVD missed a 5 star frog splash, and Edward hit a Boston Knee Party for the pin to retain the Impact World Championship.

After the match, Eric Young ran in and attacked Edwards form behind while Edwards celebrated.

When Young finished kicking Edwards out of it, Young said it will be Young and Edwards next week for the Impact World Championship.
