Tetsuya Naito (left) And Evil (right) Moments After Their Tag Team Match On July 31, 2020 Summer Struggle Tour Match At Korakuen Hall Began via New Japan World

The headline match of the July 31, 2020, Summer Struggle Tour event saw Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) members v2 challenger for the IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Championship’ Tetsuya Naito and Bushi against Bullet Club members IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ Evil and v2 IWGP Junior Heavyweight Challenger Taiji Ishimori.

Evil would end up submitting Bushi with the Scorpion Deathlock (aka Sasori-Gatame) at the 9 minute 53-second mark. After the match, Evil would attack Naito, gaining a bit of an advantage over him going into the Summer Struggle in Jingu featured event.

In the fourth match CHAOS members, Kazuchika Okada and Sho defeated Bullet Club members Yujiro Takahashi and Gedo when Sho submitted Gedo with a Cross Arm Breaker at the 10 minute 38-second mark.

The third match saw Suzuki-Gun members IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi), Yoshinobu Kanemaru, El Desperado, and Douki defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Master Wato, and NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yuya Uemura.

El Desperado pinned Uemura after hitting his Pinche Loco technique at the 14 minute and 11-second mark.

The second match saw NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi and Sanada defeat Great Bash Heel (Togi Makabe/Tomoaki Honma) in 10 minutes and 57 seconds when Sanada submitted Homa with the Skull End.

Sanada’s current streak of falls makes it likely that he is on a path to collide with Evil at some point in the near future.

The opening match of the event saw CHAOS members Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano, and Yoshi-Hashi defeat Hontai members Satoshi Kojima, Ryusuke Taguchi, NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yota Tsuji, and NJPW Los Angeles (LA) Dojo Young Lion Gabriel Kidd.

The next NJPW event will be on August 6th as the Summer Struggle Tour continues from the Korakuen Hall.
