On last week’s WWE Raw, Randy Orton slipped into the ring and his Drew McIntyre with an RKO to close out the show.
McIntyre had just defeated Dolph Ziggler, ending their feud so he and Orton can start building for their match at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship.
This has the potential to be the match of the year as it’ll put two of the promotion’s best performers, so we won’t be disappointed.
But until then, Drew McIntyre will be looking for revenge, or at least claim his pound of flesh.
How will @DMcIntyreWWE respond to @RandyOrton's VICIOUS surprise attack?#WWERaw https://t.co/Qdgnk3CcMl

The biggest threat
Out of all of McIntyre’s challengers so far, Orton is by far the most dangerous, but that only adds to the enjoyment of their building feud.
But everything has to start somewhere.
McIntyre has shown he’s willing and able to meet any challenge that faces him, and this will be no different. While Ziggler awoke the Scottish Psychopath, Orton will draw it out completely.
And this is what’ll make their match and the build up worth watching.
We can expect McIntyre to be more pissed than usual when he walks into his first interview after being RKO’d.
Of course, he’ll probably skip the interviewer and head right to the ring to call Orton out.
Pretty standard, but unlike most of the scripted back and forths, this should be entertaining as chances are Orton and McIntyre will be allowed to ad-lib their exchange.
That’ll make all the difference for us, and we’re sure it’ll only intensify from there.
Who knows, maybe Orton will try to attack again and McIntyre will catch him.
Nothing like two top predators facing off for a golden prize.
Additional services
There’s also the chance Orton will bring in some helpers like he did with the Big Show.
In this case, it’d make sense and be groan-inducing if his helper(s) are Dolph Ziggler and may Robert Roode, who we haven’t seen since the duo were traded to Raw.
We’d like to think Ziggler will be used elsewhere, but this feels more in line with what the WWE has done in recent months than not, so we’d better prepare ourselves.
Storyline wise, it makes sense as Ziggler will want to get even and punish McIntyre.
Realistically, it’s used up. Ziggler’s one of the best talents in the company, but he’s been booked as little more than a jobber for a while and we don’t see that changing any time soon.
Our fear is this could resemble Baron Corbin’s feud with Roman Reigns, though more serious and without the dog food.
This feud has so much potential as long as WWE creative (Vince McMahon) stays out of their way.
