The Fiend closed out last week’s WWE Smackdown by attacking Alexa Bliss, and we can expect him to speak on that on tonight’s Firefly Funhouse.
There’s been plenty of speculation as to whether Alexa Bliss is now Sister Abigail or at least turning heel, and it’s all meant to bring back Braun Strowman.
A few weeks back on a Moment of Bliss, Alexa had referred to Strowman as her good friend. While it wasn’t apparent then, it obviously put a target on her for Wyatt.
Draw Strowman out
Wyatt stated last week on WWE Smackdown that he’s been looking for Strowman but hadn’t yet found him.
This gives us the impression that he didn’t really lose the Swamp Match as much as he escaped to fight another day.
He had said the Fiend was everything he was afraid of, so it’d make sense that he’d run and try to find a way to defeat him once and for all.
This not only adds a cool new layer to Strowman’s character, but it also puts a chink in his armor and makes him human.
It’s something we’re often not allowed to believe about WWE superstars, and this makes him more relatable in a few ways.
While this adds more reasoning behind the Fiend’s attack on Bliss, it also gives us reason to expect Strowman to pop up sometime before SummerSlam, and this could be the night he does.
Strowman’s return
Everyone seems pretty sure Strowman will appear tonight, and it makes sense with SummerSlam two weeks away. He’s needed to continue the push in his and Wyatt’s storyline, but is this the right time?
Strowman missing may not be the biggest story on WWE Smackdown at the moment with Matt Riddle and Jeff Hardy dominating the airwaves, but it’s arguable the most enticing and exciting.
He is the Universal Champion, after all, and his and Wyatt’s storyline is the best we’ve seen in a while.
With all that being said, we agree with the majority that Strowman will appear tonight. It just feels right as Wyatt will gloat about attacking Bliss and sink the hook deeper into Strowman.
We expect Strowman to appear at the end of the show and wither attack Wyatt at the Firefly Funhouse or destroy the funhouse similar to how Seth Rollins had, except with his bare hands.
