WWE Smackdown Results and Recap returned as Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura came out to the ring for Cesaro’s singles match against Lince Dorado (w/Gran Metalik)
The match started with a fast tie up and a few strikes by Cesaro before Dorado managed to avoid him until he was caught and Cesaro countered a hurricaranna into a backbreaker.
Cesaro kept the pressure on and stopped Dorado’s comeback with a clothesline.
Dorado managed to knock Cesaro out of the ring, but Cesaro caught him in the air again. Dorado held onto the plexiglass, then hit with a hurricaranna, sending Cesaro into the ring apron.
Dorado his with a couple of shoulders through the ropes, and then rolled him up with a sunset flip for a near pinfall.
Cesaro caught Dorado off the ropes and hit with another backbreaker for a near pinfall.
Cesaro continued to hammer on Dorado with his forearms before another pin attempt, and then an arm stretch that Dorado broke with a dropkick.
A jaw breaker kept Cesaro off balance, and Dorado again countered with a kick before hitting with a springboard stunner and a two moonsaults off the ropes before Nakamura distracted him.
Dorado countered a power bomb into a roll up, but Cesaro kicked out, then hit with a Neutralizer for the pin.
Backstage, Tucker clamed Otis to save his energy for their alter match against Miz and Morrison. Charly asked if they’d be ready, and both Otis and Tucker said they’re ready. Otis added that if he’s angry, nobody will be laughing.
The Fiend to Face Braun Strowman at SummerSlam
The power in the arena shut off and the Fiend’s entrance music started with red lasers and the occasional strobe light being the only illumination as the Fiend made his way to the ring.
We came back from commercial with the Fiend standing in the ring with Alexa Bliss sitting in front of him in the same clothes she wore last week. Good job to the WWE production team for that continuity.
He slowly circled her before backing into a corner and crouching, and then crawling toward her.
He held his hand out like he did last week, and slowly moved in for a mandible claw before Bliss stopped him.
She reached up and caressed his face, forcing him to pull away.
Strowman’s voice filled the arena as he appeared on the titantron, claiming he doesn’t care about Alexa. He only wants to destroy Bray Wyatt.
Strowman called him the most evil SOB on the earth, and that he had tried to resist but Strowman is now fulfilling his destiny.
He’s more than a man, he’s the thing nightmares are made of. He’s a Monster. He said Wyatt can have whatever he wants at SummerSlam if he’s brave enough to face the Monster.
