For three years, Undisputed Era has run NXT. At one point they held all the gold, the locker room knew that if you crossed them? You were in for a bad time. The prophecy came true, but it ended with Keith Lee taking Roderick Strong’s North American Championship and then Adam Cole’s NXT Championship.
Now people feel they have become soft, the fear left, and they can say whatever they want now. Austin Theory earlier in the night insulted Kyle O’Reilly and his 15 year journey to an NXT Championship shot. Theory already made it to Wrestlemania, what’s O’Reilly’s excuse?
Adam Cole would call him out for this. He was given two options, get in the ring or get beat down by Undisputed Era. He picked the first one, and the bell was rung, this match official.
Adam Cole Takes His Frustrations Out On Austin Theory
Adam Cole was clearly in a bad mood, and would go right to Austin Theory with a flurry of chops and kicks. A big pump kick dropped Theory, and then a neckbreaker as well. Theory tried to escape to the back, but would be caught by Cole again with another huge pump kick to the face, then rammed him into the steel steps.
Cole would throw Theory back in the ring, and Theory thought this would give him an opening only to get kicked in the head. Another neckbreaker, and Theory would still be cocky saying he can do this all day. Theory would be mounted in the corner, and a dropkick would have him drop hard, and hurt his leg on the way down.
Cole locked in a headlock, and as soon as Theory got free, he was run through with a back elbow. He wouldn’t stay down long, and managed to hit a big front dropkick to drop Cole and gain some control in this match finally as we’d be going into a commercial break.
And That’s Undisputed!
During the break, Theory maintained control and was showing Cole that he’s not to be taken lightly. He’d nail a backbreaker, and then a standing moonsault. However, he’d give Cole too much time, and find himself back on the defensive. Cole hit a big kick to the head and a backstabber, getting a two count.
Another pump kick and an Ushiguroshi would get another near fall, and Cole almost looked impressed by this performance. Panama Sunrise would be set up, but Theory was able to counter and hit a superkick to the back of the neck. A Blue Thunder Bomb would put Cole down for a two count, and this was anyones match.
They’d slug it out, and Theory ate a few huge superkicks before taking a knee drop brainbuster and The Last Shot. Cole didn’t have an easy time with Theory, but the result is clear. You miss with The Undisputed Era, you get dropped. This Sunday, Kyle O’Reilly will show why he’s worthy of respect.
