Last week on NXT, the show was capped by a sixty minute fatal four way ironman match, but that didn’t end with a winner. The battle continues this week with two less men, and two of the hardest hitting women in NXT meet in a steel cage. Let’s break down what to expect from the Black & Gold brand tonight, on NXT Super Tuesday II.
Finn Balor vs. Adam Cole in Sudden Death Overtime
In the final minute of the huge ironman match, Balor & Cole picked up last minute points. This ensured they finished tied at 2-2, removing Gargano & Ciampa from the picture again. Without time to continue the match last week, we will see a one on one match to decide the new NXT Champion between the longest reigning champs in the belts history.
This match is going to start the show, and will likely be done with limited commercial breaks. It’s gonna be a huge one for sure, and tonight we’re sure to finally have a new NXT Champion.
The Battle Of The Badasses
In the NXT women’s division, there is a very heated feud. Mercedes Martinez cost Rhea Ripley a shot at the NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai weeks back, at the behest of Robert Stone. This would quickly escalate, with Ripley powerbombing Martinez on concrete. Now, they’re going to main event NXT in a steel cage match.
It hasn’t been a long feud, with this being their first one on one encounter, but in one of NXT’s signature matches. With a draft looming, one of these women could be on their way out of NXT very soon, so this one will be one to watch closely.
Those are the only two announced matches at this time, but there are some expected bits on the show. Bronson Reed is about ready to tear Austin Theory apart after a cheapshot leading to his loss against Timothy Thatcher. Legado Del Fantasma sent a message to Ever-Rise on 205 Live with a brutal beatdown, and need to deal with Swerve having pinned Escobar last week.
