Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results! I’m your host, CP Bialois, and it looks like were in for a fun night!
Not only is Universal Champion Roman Reigns expected, but there’s a Fatal Four Way where Big E, Sheamus, King Corbin, and Matt Riddle face off with the winner facing Reigns at Clash of Champions on September 27.
Let’s grab some snacks and we’ll see you back here at showtime (8 pm EST).
We’re back and ready to get things rolling. Here we go!
Segment 1
Reigns started it off with Heyman as his mouthpiece.
Heyman cited lack of appreciation for Reigns’ sacrifices for us and announced himself as the special council for Roman Reigns.
So they combined Seth Rollins’ Monday Night Messiah and Brock Lesnar’s gimmics to a point. No surprise there.
Segment 2
Jey Uso greeted Reigns backstage and was worried about him beung with Heyman and promised he has Reigns’ back no matter what.
Heavy Machinery vs. The Miz and John Morrison
This was more of a squash match as Otis and Tucker dominated as we headed to commerical.
Segment 3
Miz and Morrison were in control after the comemrical break, but Heavy Machinery pulled out the win when Otis pinned the Miz.
Morrison stole Ptis’ MITB briefcase and ran off with it.
Big E was ambushed backstage by Sheamus and put through a car window after taking a Brogue Kick.
Segment 4
Big E was listed with numerous laceration and possible other injuries and would be transported to a hospital.
Sheamus said he merely defended himself, and mentioned his match later will probably be a Triple Threat.
Sasha Banks and Bayley were interviewed and they tried to sound confident, but there’s something off with them.
Segment 5
Adam Pearce said there will be a Fatal Four Way match, they just have to decide who will take Big E’s place.
Heyman then pulled him aside to talk.
Women’s Tag Team Championship – Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Bayley and Sasha Banks
Banks and Bayley started off aggressively, but Jaz and Baszler took control as we headed to commercial.
Segment 6
The match was up there with their Payback match and ended when Jax hit Bayley and Banks with a corssbody of fthe second rope and pinned them both.
Segment 7
Bayley turned on Banks, beating her unconcsious before placing a chair around her neck/shoulders and jumping off the ropes onto the chair legs.
Whelp, we’ve been waiting for this. DIdn’t expect it to be a ten or so minute beatdown, though.
Segment 8
A scrum over the intercontnental Championship betwen Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, and Sami Zayn happened, and Zayn ran off with his belt while Jeff and STyles were out.
Jey Uso is the added member of the Fatal Four Way. Gee, wonder hwo it will unfold now.
Segment 9
It’s revealed that Morrison stole Otis’ lunch by mistake, meaning Otis outsmarted him.
Universal Championship Number 1 Contender Fatal Four Way – Matt Riddle Vs. Sheamus vs. Jey Uso vs. King Corbin
This started as a scrum and the bell hadn’t rung as we headed to comemrcial.
Segment 10
The match eventually started following a Firefly Funhouse were Wyatt promised a new friend next week, and Nikki Cross forgiving Alexa Bliss.
THe match started fast and furious, with Corbin and Sheamus working together to isolate Jey, and then Riddle.
Segment 11
Jey Uso hit Matt Riddle with a splash for the win, making it cousin vs. cousin as Clash of Champions.
This was a… interesting episode. It felt more disjointed than anything, like it was thrown together fast and there were a whole lot of surprises.
