A lot of wrestlers have made an impact (pun intended) in Impact Wrestling since returning or joining around Slammiversary, and the Motor City machine Guns hold a special slot.
While the news around Eric Young’s return and subsequent rampage have dominated the headlines, the MCMG have taken the tag team division by storm.
Not only did they defeat The North (Ethan Page and Josh Alexander) for the Impact Tag Team Championship at Slammiversary, but they snapped their record setting title reign.
And The North haven’t forgiven them for it.
But Impact Wrestling has added more to their tag team division over the last few months, and it’s now one of the best in professional wrestling.

Rewriting history
One of those new teams was born out of Ace Austin’s determination to win the Impact World Championship when he recruited Madman Fulton to help him.
At the time, Austin said Fulton would achieve his glory in time, but right then it was about Austin’s glory, but with Eddie Edwards winning the World Championship at Slammiversary, Fulton’s time came.
Since then, Austin and Fulton have formed one of the most feared tag teams in Impact Wrestling, even if their won-loss record doesn’t reflect that.

Some of those losses came when they were still working out their strategy and others were simply luck or timing, but they’ve overcome that.
Four days ago, Austin and Fulton won the AAW Tag Team Championship, and they’ve now set their sights on Impact Wrestling’s tag belts.
And that means tonight’s match with the Motor City Machine Guns is uber important to their goals.
The winner is…
Not that we’re superstitious, but we seem to have the kiss of death when predicting Austin and Fulton winning, but this time we feels safe in saying they’ll lose this time (reverse psychology, perhaps?).
To be fair, they are one of our favorite teams simply because they’re such a unique combination of size, strength, athleticism, and guile.
They remind us of old school tag teams when one member was the brawn, and the other the mobile, athletic one.
Still, the MCMG are one of the best and most fluid tag teams we’ve seen, and their energy levels are off the charts.
Their run isn’t done and we expect them to pull out the win tonight but it won’t be pretty.
This will be another close one that Austin and Fulton will lose by a hair, or maybe even by interference by one of the many teams out there.
Either way, we’re sure this is going to be a fun match to watch and could easily be the match of the night.
