Last week at the end of the episode of Ring Of Honor, we saw an ominous Black & White promo. It urged fans to rise up, control their narrative in life, and take back control. We’d see it again in Ring Of Honor: Week By Week, and tonight we saw a brand new promo, with more on this message.
Control Your Narrative
Again it was Black & White, but with scrolling text and ominous music.
“They have tried to take away your freedom. Freedom to think, freedom to speak, freedom to choose, freedom to exist. But the instant you realize your freedom is all you have, you will finally control your narrative.”
Following this, we’d see a proper heavyweight in a jacket, hood up, walk into a gym. Three lines appeared on the screen, and one last message would be shown. “You have been warned.” This all makes it incredibly clear that ROH could be in for some trouble.
EC3 Is Coming To Ring Of Honor
After a frankly horrible second run in WWE, EC3 was released earlier this year. Since then, he’s kept himself quiet. He’s been showing up for his old home of Impact Wrestling, where he will soon meet Moose at Bound For Glory, but has kept out of the ring mostly. EC3 has had two matches since leaving WWE, one against Black Taurus at Independent Wrestling Expo Night Two back in August, and a short match against Travis Titan for Black Label Pro Turbo Graps 16.
Now though, he’s set his sights on Ring Of Honor. Control your narrative was a phrase heavily thrown around by EC3 since leaving WWE, as he’s retaken control of his career. Making his ROH debut as they move into a new era could be what he needs, and while he’s always been better on the character side of things, could help him prove just how good he is in the ring. Get him in a couple Pure Wrestling matches, and he’ll show fans another layer of what WWE missed out on, by not giving him enough control to be a star.
