The WWE Draft saw the return to the main roster for Lars Sullivan. Sullivan had been away from the WWE since sustaining a knee injury during a match with the Lucha House Party on Raw in June last year. There was immediately questions whether we would ever see the 6 ft 3 in superstar again, as numerous reports claimed that plans to push him were over.
Sullivan is certainly a superstar that Vince McMahon would love, as he is a powerhouse and has been purpose built for the company. He was brought to the WWE by Bobby Lashley back in 2013 and immediately started training at the Performance Center. Sullivan was fast-tracked through NXT and made his main roster debut in 2018.
WWE News: Sullivan’s Big Entrance
Sullivan’s WWE career to this point has fallen pretty flat despite the WWE having big plans for him. He was built up as a monster before making his debut, with promos airing throughout Raw and SmackDown in preparation for his debut, He was meant to make his main roster debut back in January last year, but the date was pushed back after it was revealed that he was unable to compete after having an anxiety attack.
The WWE stuck with Sullivan, and he eventually made his debut on the Raw after WrestleMania in April 2019. The company wanted to make an immediate name for the new superstar, so he attacked Kurt Angle on his final night with the company. This huge push continued for a number of months as he worked with the Hardyz and Rey Mysterio, before being lumped with a feud with the Lucha House Party.
WWE News: Huge Plans For Sullivan
That initial run fell flat in the end after he was forced off television after suffering injury. However, it would seem as though the WWE aren’t about to give up on their plans to continue the Sullivan push, as it has been teased that he could be set for a high-profile feud with Braun Strowman.
He made his big return to the WWE during SmackDown last week after being drafted to the brand. Despite being drafted to SmackDown, he then went on to appear on Raw the following week where he beat down John Morrison. If the plan is to make Strowman and Sullivan feud, then it could be difficult as they are on separate brands following the draft.
