The season premiere of Friday Night SmackDown will take place tomorrow night, and there is expected to be a huge night of action in store for fans. Roman Reigns will be defending his Universal Championship in the main event against Braun Strowman, and there will be a number of new superstars on board to shake up the action on the blue brand.
SmackDown could be the biggest winners following the draft, as they have emerged from the two-night event with a stacked roster of superstars, and there are so many directions that the show can go in over the next couple of months. But, which superstars are we most excited to see flourish on SmackDown over the coming weeks and months?
WWE News: The Riott Squad
There wasn’t a lot made of it when The Riott Squad reunited, but over the past couple of months, we have seen that it was 100% the right decision. Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott are two of the most underappreciated superstars on the roster, and the platform that SmackDown will give them will give them the opportunity to shine. Morgan is one of the brightest prospects in the women’s division, and she is set to be a bonafide star.
There is a deep pool of women’s talent on the blue brand now, but expect The Riott Squad to be the breakout stars from the draft, and we can’t wait to see what the move to the blue brand does for them going forward.
WWE News: Big E
The biggest winner from the draft was Big E, as he will now be going into singles action without the burden of The New Day being in the background. It was a devastating blow to see The New Day and Big E go their separate ways, but it was something that needed to happen to ensure that company go all-in on Big E as a singles superstar.
There has never been any doubt that Big E is set for superstardom, and the draft means that he is well on his way to doing that. It will be interesting to see the direction that the company go in with Big E, but it will likely lead to a title opportunity further down the line.
WWE News: The Street Profits
The Street Profits will once again make for must-see television on SmackDown after becoming stale on Raw. The team is one of the most enjoyable to watch in the tag team division, and they will be able to recapture that now that they are on Friday nights. They beat everybody that there was to beat on Monday nights, and the move to the blue brand will mean that fresh stories can be told. It is an exciting time to be a fan of the SmackDown tag team champions.
