There have been rumours circulating online that the Undertaker will be back in a WWE ring before the end of the year, as it has been teased that he will appear at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view. The event will be taking place nearly 30 years after the Dead Man made his in-ring debut for the company, and Undertaker appearing is set to be the anniversary for that landmark.
It’s unclear at present what role Taker will have at the event, and whether he will be getting involved in a storyline before the event. It could also be one of the last times that we see Taker, as he revealed earlier in the year that he would be retiring from in-ring action.
WWE News: Match For Taker?
It hasn’t been announced yet, but there could be plans in place for Taker to have a match at Survivor Series this year. Fans will be keen to see the Dead Man in action one final time, and the match could act as somewhat of a testimonial for Taker. There will be no shortage of stars lining up to the one standing at the opposite end of the ring.
We haven’t seen Taker wrestle this year since WrestleMania back in April. Even that wasn’t the standard match that we had come to expect from Taker when it comes to Mania, as it was the Boneyard Match. However, it was still a welcome sight, as Taker looked a million dollars in the cinematic match. Some even argued that it was his best match for many years
WWE News: Who Could Face Taker?
Hypothetically if Taker was to compete at Survivor Series, he will be looking to come up a superstar that has unfinished with him. Randy Orton could be one of those stars, and the WWE are also airing a documentary looking at the rivalry between the Viper and Taker, which could be there to whet the appetite for more action between the two.
Orton has been impressive throughout the year, and he will likely be looking for something fresh after the rivalry with Drew McIntyre comes to an end this Sunday. A potential re-match could be just what Orton needs ahead of his re-match with Edge. AJ Styles would also be among the superstars looking to have a normal match with Taker, and that would certainly be something fans would like to see.
