This should be an interesting show with Seth Rollins saying goodbye and some other action besides the draft.
Here we, let’s get it started!
Orton and McIntyre
The show started with Tom Phillips, Bryan Saxton, and Samoa Joe at the commentating table giving a brief recap of the WWE Draft on Smackdown and then covered the rules.
Instead of Stephanie McMahon getting things rolling, Randy Orton came out to the ring as Samoa Joe pointed out Orton’s been picked at or near the top in every draft his brand has had.
He started out saying that regardless whether he goes to Smackdown or stays on Raw, the fact is in two weeks he will take Drew McIntyre’s championship from him at Hell in a Cell.
He went on saying 2020 has been the year of Drew McIntyre, and that can’t be disputed.
He became one of the main faces of the WWE, and he said he only just learned that last week was McIntyre’s first pinfall loss in a year.
Orton promised that at HIAC he will pinn McIntyre again and he’ll end his legacy and end his championship by hitting him with the three most dangerous letters in sports entertainment, “R.K—”
McIntyre’s music interrupted him and the champion came out and said he had to congratulate Orton on being the first person to pin him in over a year.
McIntyre added that what he didn’t expect was Orton gloated instead of punting him.
He then added that when he kicked Orton at Clash of Champions, it was for everyone he screwed over. But at HIAC, he’ll do it for himself.
McIntyre continued that he made a promise last week that he’d kick the crap out of Orton every time they’re in the same building and headed to the ring.
McIntyre landed a handful of rights and continued pounding on Orton until Orton landed a kick and rolled out of the ring.
Orton then caught him outside the ring and slammed him against the apron and hit a couple of uppercuts, but McIntyre threw him into the barricade, the ring post, and the announce table.
McIntyre then dropped him on the announce desk and threw Orton into the ring, but Orton rolled out of the other side and headed up the ramp.
McIntyre stayed in the ring, smiling and saying he’s going to have lots of fun tonight.
WWE draft round one
We came back and Stephanie McMahon came out to announce the night’s first round.
Raw selected the Fiend.
Smackdown selected Bayley, protecting their women’s champion.
Raw picked Randy Orton. This is a shock. We expected him to go to Smackdown.
Smackdown picked the Street Profits.
Raw closed it out by selecting Charlotte Flair.
While WWE Raw Draft Results didn’t expect Flair or Becky Lynch to be drafted, this was a good pick for when Flair comes back. We’re guessing it’s pretty soon otherwise what was the point?
Maybe just to get some social media gossip going and build hype?
