The WWE are pulling out all the stops for the season premiere of Friday Night SmackDown tonight. There are already a number of segments that have been announced, and there could also be a couple of surprises in store for fans during the show tonight. There is also set to be an emotional farewell to The New Day, who will be teaming up as a three for the final time before going their separate ways.
WWE SmackDown: Championship Match Set For Tonight
The main event for the season premiere will be a title match involving Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns. Let’s face it, it’s hugely unlikely that Strowman will be walking away with the title as he is moving to Raw next week and Reigns already has a match scheduled for Hell in a Cell against Jey Uso.
However, these two superstars were locked in a bitter feud once upon a time on Raw, and they will be able to tear the house down. Strowman was previously the Universal Champion after beating Goldberg for the championship at WrestleMania, but The Fiend took the title off Strowman and the Reigns took the title off him. It looks to be a predictable result, but it should still be a hard-hitting match to end the show.
WWE SmackDown: The New Day’s Farewell
It will also be an emotional evening for The New Day, as they will team for the final time as a three on SmackDown tonight. The famous team will face off against a trio of Shinsuke Nakamura, Sheamus and Cesaro tonight. It’s hard to see The New Day going their own ways without a final win, but could there be one final twist, with Big E attacking his former brothers on their final night on the blue brand?
WWE SmackDown: Daniel Bryan Returns
There will also be a Thunderdome debut for Daniel Bryan during SmackDown tonight, after it was revealed on social media that he would be kicking off the show. Bryan was drafted back to SmackDown during the draft on Monday night, but has yet to wrestle for the company since the WWE moved into the Thunderdome. It will be interesting to see what the plan is for Bryan moving forward, but SmackDown is a much better roster with him on it.
