‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers here and it looks like we’re going to have an interesting episode as we celebrate the 12,000 episode with a dash of a wedding.
Through the years, we’ve gotten to see some of the most iconic moments in daytime television history, but 12,000 episodes is an awesome milestone that deserves to be celebrated.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Tuesday, December 1: Celebrating the 12,000 Episode with Abby and Chance’s Wedding
To tie in with that, CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers thinks the showrunners are using it to help promote their new supercouple: Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Justin Gaston).
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Tuesday, December 1: It’s here but not wanted
After their share of obstacles, Chance and Abby are going to walk down the aisle and begin the rest of their lives.
We expect it to be a great ceremony with everyone of importance in Genoa City to be there to see the three biggest families become one.
Basically, a typical wedding in Genoa City for the most part.
We’re sure it’ll go off without a hitch despite many fans not liking the couple, and this is going to make the Y&R social media pages interesting.
Over the last couple of weeks, unrest has grown in the fan base at seeing Abby and Chance taking over a good chunk of daytime television.
It reached a peak when it was announced that Tyler Johnson was fired and fans let their distaste of the writing for his character be known as well as Chance taking the mantel.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Tuesday, December 1: Immortal moment
By tying the wedding to their 12,000 episode, the showrunners are hoping the huge ratings surge that normally accompanies these moments to propel Abby and Chance into super coupledom.
The problem with this is partly the aforementioned fan reaction, but also the fact that this moment should arguably be done with a historic couple or character making an announcement or having a moment that brings everyone together.
A while back, we celebrated Eric Braeden and his character, Victor Newman, for their time and contributions to the show.
It was a great moment that was touching and set off a storyline involving Victoria Newman (Amelie Heinle) and a magically growing three inch knife that grew from the kidneys to the lungs and heart.
It just feels wrong to bring so many back to a wedding of a couple so many don’t seem to like.
Still, we expect it to be a fun show, but we’re more interested in any behind the scenes interviews and celebration.
Those will probably be online if anyone’s interested.
