One of the many companies that was placed on hiatus when COVID-19 struck, was Major League Wrestling. They explained this by having their top faction Contra-Point take control of the company and shut everything down, setting up a big restart angle. Now, the troops are being rallied for the MLW Restart, and they have a few months of TV taped and ready to go.
MLW Fusion Has 16 Weeks Of Episodes Taped
Prior to the shut down, MLW Fusion was becoming a popular part of wrestling fans’ weeks. It aired on Saturday evenings with beIn Sports, before being uploaded for free to YouTube on the following Monday. They have high production value, some excellent talent like their ace Jacob Fatu, and simply put on great shows week in and week out.
Now they’ve back. They’ve been able to tape 16 weeks worth of TV in an empty arena setting, shot at the GILT Nightclub in Orlando. With the restart being big for them, we also have some surprises showing up during these tapings.
Multiple ex-WWE Stars Worked These Tapings
While we will have the expected names on the roster around, there will some surprises for fans working these events. At least three ex-WWE talent were present, those being Lio Rush, Shawn Daivari, and ACH. Add in Larado Kid from AAA showing up, and Low Ki being confirmed, and things are quickly reaching must see levels. LA Park, Hijo De La Park, Savio Vega, Alex Hammerstone, Calvin Tankman, The Von Erics and more have been confirmed.
MLW has always had a solid creative direction, and they have had months to fine tune how to get things going. If nothing else, we will see more great matches from Jacob Fatu. New episodes start on November 18th, adding another weekly show for fans to sink their teeth into.
Variety is the spice of life, and that applies to professional wrestling as well. With them almost starting with a fresh slate, it’s the easiest time ever to get into them as well. They’ll almost certainly do some recaps on their YouTube channel in the coming weeks to get new fans and old fans caught back up. The Restart could be their big break, we’ll just need to wait and see.
