Much has been made in the United Kingdom about the move of the WWE from Sky Sports to BT Sport, but so far the deal has been brilliant for fans of wrestling. The broadcaster held a special show to mark the move to BT in January, and that has continued with WWE UK now taking place inside the headquarters of the broadcaster.
BT’s dedication to the WWE should be applauded, as it has given wrestling a fresh platform to excel, which is something that Sky Sports failed to do over the last ten years. There was another example of that commitment this week, as BT Sport revealed on social media that there will be special week-long event leading up to The Undertaker’s final appearance at Survivor Series.
WWE News: BT Sport Announce Special Week
The Undertaker will make his final appearance in a WWE ring 30 years after making his debut at the same event. BT Sport revealed on social media on Monday night that there will be a special week of programming to mark the huge occasion, and honour the prestigious career that The Undertaker has enjoyed.
BT revealed the news by claiming that it will be an emotional week as they honour the greatest of all-time. The special episodes will begin on the 16th November, and will run up until the night before Survivor Series. And, there is an awful lot for British fans to look forward to throughout the week, as there is a mix of existing and fresh content.
WWE News: Special Programmes Revealed
One of the standout programmes that fans in the UK will be able to look forward to is the airing of a special episode of The Last Ride, which will feature clips from throughout the docu-series. Fans will also be able to watch the special episode of the Broken Skull Sessions, which aired on the WWE Network earlier in the year.
However, the most exciting programme that fans will be looking forward to is the What Went Down. Fans were delighted to see the first introduction of this programme earlier in the year, as Stephanie McMahon and Triple H both gave special insights into the WrestleMania match between the pair and Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey. The programme will focus on the WrestleMania 28 match between Triple H and Taker, and will feature insights from the stars involved. If fans are still demanding more, then they will be able to watch a number of Taker’s greatest matches throughout the week.
