Impact Wrestling Preview has enjoyed watching Chris Bey seek to move up the ranks in Impact Wrestling, and in doing so he’s managed to fire up both Rich Swann and Willie Mack.
Bey hasn’t been shy, and last week he pitched how he and Swann could make a lot of money together, but while doing so he referred to Swann’s best friend, Willie Mack, as a loser and that didn’t sit well with either of them.
Mack had hinted that Bey needed someone to teach him a lesson, and that led to a match between the two.
Motivated
While Mack is going to be looking to prove he’s not a loser and put Bey in his place, he also has the chance to put his previous loss to Bey when Bey won the X-Division Championship from him.
Since then, Mack’s hit a rough patch as he dropped a few matches, most recently to Moose where the official decided he wasn’t fit to continue.
Mack had taken both of those decisions personally, and we expect him to use that as added motivation against Bey when they meet.
The Finesser
Bey has tried to convince Rich Swann into giving him a shot at the Impact World Championship, but Swann has told him he has to earn it.
With his slick ways not working, Bey’s going to have to get through Mack to earn his shot. It’s kinda expected since going through Swann’s friends make sense.
Despite his previous wins against Mack, this will be a tough match for Bey given how motivated Mack is at the moment, and he hasn’t helped himself one bit.
Still, he’s going to have a plan going into this, and it should make for a fun match.
When it comes down to it, Bey has had his own rough patch lately and he’ll be looking to right the ship and get things moving upwards just like Mack.
Impact Wrestling Preview thinks this will be a test of wills between Bey wanting the top title and Mack trying to prove himself, and as much as we’d like to see Mack win we think it’ll be Bey.
With a trio of successful title defenses against Eric Young, Sami Callihan, and Ken Shamrock, Swann’s going to need a fresh opponent, and storyline wise Chris Bey makes sense.
Of course, it’s very possible Mack defeats Bey to hold him off a little longer, and this could lead to an interesting feud to get a chance for Swann’s title.
