The Royal Rumble is fast approaching, and the WWE will be hoping that they can kickstart a new year with an exciting rivalry. Judging by rumours that have been doing the rounds online, there could be something exciting in the pipeline for fans, as it has been revealed that Daniel Bryan could soon emerge as the number one contender for the Universal Championship.
It will be a sight that is welcomed by fans, as Bryan has constantly delivered excellent matches. He has been kept off television over recent weeks after he was attacked at the hands of Jey Uso before the Survivor Series PPV. Kevin Owens has stepped up to take on the Big Dog, but it appears that Owens will just be filling the void until the Rumble, where Bryan re-emerges to take on Reigns.
WWE News: Bryan vs Reigns Likely
It would certainly seem as though a match between the two is the most likely destination for thisfeud after Reigns orchestrated the attack by Uso on Bryan. Uso ended up putting Bryan through a table after their match to determine which of them would be representing SmackDown at the recent Survivor Series PPV.
Bryan hasn’t been seen since, but now Uso is being kept off television after picking up an injury after an attack by Owens. It could lead to an exciting programme for fans, with Owens and Uso both also involved. However, plans seem to be in place at this moment to see Bryan try to take the Universal gold from Reigns.
WWE News: Reigns Wins And Heads To Mania?
There isn’t any question that the match will be an exciting one, as neither Reigns or Bryan have many bad matches. It will be a different match from the ones that we have seen Reigns involved in against Uso, as there will likely be less narrative following the emotional side of their story. However, it will also be less hard-hitting than the match against Drew McIntyre.
Therefore, we could likely see a more technical match between the stars, as Reigns tries to prove that he is the most dominant superstar by all aspects of the meaning. Regardless, it looks unlikely that Bryan will go over, as there is likely a huge plan in the works for Reigns regarding WrestleMania. However, it will be an exciting start to the 2021 PPVs.
