This Sunday at WarGames, very few walked out of the cage without long lasting damage. Ember Moon from Team Blackheart & Raquel Gonzalez from Team LeRae were two of the lucky ones. Moon only got a few bumps and bruises despite starting the match and going the full 35 minutes, while Gonzalez was the one to finish the match out.
They will meet tonight on NXT, in a match which could have major implications on the standings for the NXT Women’s Championship. Add in the fact that Moon injured Dakota Kai with the Eclipse over the chair at WarGames,
Raquel Gonzalez Is A Beast
Moon would need to stick and move in this match, because Gozalez can outpower Moon at every turn. She’d catch Moon and just ragdoll her around the ring with ease, before crashing into her and taking her breath away.
Moon was able to stay in this with her speed and kicks, but her one second advantages weren’t getting her far. She just kept getting up, and after three running dropkicks, Gonzalez finally took a knee and a flatliner put her to the mat. Gonzalez went to the apron, and Moon dashed in and took her out as we went to a commercial break.
Coming back from the break, Moon was trapped in the Gory Stretch, but fought out. She’d hit the ropes before being hit with a big boot, and was right back to the mat. Moon hit a hurricanrana into the turnbuckle to stun Gonzalez, and then a tornado suplex, taking Gonzalez off her feet.
Ember Moon Keeps On Fighting
Gonzalez came back with a big boot, but Moon dodged and hit a kick to the gut. Moon hit a swinging DDT for a near fall, before sending Gonzalez outside, so she just dove into Gonzalez. The metal structure of WarGames was ringside, so Moon climbed to jump off, was pulled off onto the shoulder of Gonzalez and thrown into the corner face first.
Moon still kicked out at two, somehow coming back with a knee to the head after running Gonzalez into the steel post. She went for The Eclipse, but was caught in midair, only released for a lariat. The one armed powerbomb was set up, but Moon would get the roll up for two. She’d be picked right back up and dropped with the powerbomb, and Gonzalez has pinned a former NXT Women’s Champion clean, in a singles match. Following this, Rhea Ripley came to confront Raquel, as the show went off the air.
