WWE NXT Results: Killian Dain & Drake Maverick vs. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch [WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match]

Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch haven’t done much as NXT World Tag Team Champions yet, but that can be chalked up to them winning on the road to WarGames. In that match, we saw how far these double tough brawlers will go in a big match situation, and tonight they get another chance. It’s time for them to defend their tag team championships, in a street fight, against a fearless Drake Maverick and a brutishly powerful Killian Dain.

Killian Dain & Drake Maverick Get An Early Strike

During the entrance of the champs, Dain & Maverick hit from behind in their best denim pants. Dain went right after Burch and Maverick after Lorcan, slamming them into whatever they could find before Dain grabbed a table and Maverick some chairs! With the champs down, they set up some toys, but this let Lorcan & Burch get back up and they teamed up on Dain and threw him into the barricade.

They got Dain in the ring, and isolated Dain in their corner. Despite being a no rules street fight, this isn’t tornado rules so they still needed to make tags. Lorcan & Burch wanted to use some chairs to take out Dain, but Burch got back dropped onto them. Maverick & Dain showed some tag team chemistry with a trip from Maverick into a senton from Dain, before Maverick was just thrown onto Burch.

Maverick was just being used as a weapon for Dain, and they got Lorcan down but the referee refused to count a pinfall because the foot was under the rope. Aren’t street fights Falls Count Anywhere? Dain went after Lorcan on the outside only to take a Blockbuster, while Burch took Maverick out in the ring with a lariat.

With Maverick out, both of the champions focused on Dain outside and wanted to suplex him through a table. Lorcan didn’t get him up for the suplex but dodged as Dain rushed in afterwards sending him through the table as we got a commercial break.

Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch Are Here To Stay

Coming back from the break, Maverick is isolated in the ring and being whipped by Lorcan using his own damn belt! His back and chest was starting to become welted, and Burch hit twice as hard as Lorcan. Maverick was just being brutalized, and his pants were starting to fall down to boot!

They’d throw him into the corner and ask where his partner is, but Dain was still on the outside. Double team chops from the champions dropped Maverick, but Dain was back as they were bragging. He’d tag in, dump Lorcan & Burch with belly to belly suplexes, rush them in the corner, and just give an all around ass-kicking.

Burch got hit with the Jacknife Powerbomb into an elbow drop combo, before Dain tagged in Maverick. He intended to remove Lorcan from the match with an Air Raid Crash through two tables at ringside, before being shoved off the apron and bouncing off the tables, both of them refusing the break.

Maverick was almost isolated again, but low blowed both of the champions, grabbed his belt and got some revenge. This underdog just went feral, and Burch got the worst of the belt. Lorcan came back with a low blow of his own, before holding Maverick back and letting Burch get him with the cricket bat. The assisted DDT dropped Maverick, and the champions retained!
