Timothy Thatcher has been trying his best to teach the students of NXT how to really wrestle. ‘Thatch-as-Thatch-Can’ style training is more punishing than the Hart Dungeon, because Thatcher doesn’t care about the safety of his students. He’s done well to build up his tough guy persona, and tonight another student will face his wrath, as he teaches another class.
Tommaso Ciampa Crashes Timothy Thatchers Clash
Tonight’s victi- uhhh student would get to learn about distractions. Here in NXT people lose matches by being distracted. Music plays, lights go out, people sit by ringside. This happens to everyone, but not Thatcher. Last week doesn’t count, KUSHIDA just happened to get the edge and was able to catch him with a submission.
Tonight, Thatcher will show how to deal with distractions. As he started to get to work, there was Tommaso Ciampa in the ring. But Thatcher doesn’t need a student. Thankfully, Ciampa is here to teach a lesson of his own, and urged Thatcher to attack him. This is what Ciampa has wanted for weeks now, and all his poking of the bear would finally pay off.
Thatcher would resist before taking Ciampa down with a double leg, but Ciampa would hit a punch to the jaw. Ciampa would be blindsided by the intended student of Thatcher, as Ciampa was distracted. This student is learning something from these classes, and Thatcher might actually have an ally.
Thatcher Chokes Ciampa Out
Thatcher would slam Ciampa on the outside, before taking him into the ring and effortless choking Ciampa out. We haven’t seen Ciampa choked out like this since he faced Karrion Kross months ago, and Thatcher certainly sent a message tonight.
Ciampa has wanted a fight for weeks now, and Thatcher was his target due to his tough guy persona. Thatcher had all this carefully planned, and the lesson went as planned. Ciampa got distracted, and paid for it.
