WWE Smackdown Preview would expect nothing less than furthering a couple of feuds for the TLC pay-per-view this Sunday, and it looks like we’re going to have a couple of interesting ones.
While it’s easy to see neither of these will last more than a couple of minutes before they’re interrupted, it’s going to be fun seeing the promos Carmella and Sami Zayn will cut.
Carmella’s toast
After christening Sasha Banks last week with a champagne bottle, Carmella will host a brief toast to her upcoming victory over Sasha Banks (we expect Banks to win, by the way).
We expect it to involve a recap segment along with Carmella laughing and poking fun at Banks before going into detail in what she’ll do to the Smackdown Women’s Champion.
Since their entire feud has been a string of sneak attacks when they weren’t separated, we think Banks will waste no time in confronting Carmella.
A fight will break out between the two, assuming Banks doesn’t knock Carmella senseless from behind to start it off.
This will ramp up the tension for their TLC match and make it a must watch match.
First Annual Sami Awards
Yesterday (December 17) Sami Zayn tweeted that the December 23 Slammy Awards will be “clearly very biased to highlight corporate favorites.”
To combat that, he also announced that on tonight’s Smackdown he’ll host the First Annual Sami Awards to promote the true will of the WWE Universe.
The #Slammy Awards are good fun, but clearly very biased to highlight corporate favorites.
That’s why tomorrow night on #Smackdown I will host the FIRST ANNUAL SAMI AWARDS!
The always honest ‘Champion of the People’, will present awards that reflect the true will of the people! https://t.co/Ci41EQ807K— Sami Zayn (@SamiZayn) December 18, 2020
This will mainly be him promoting how no one in the back is worth being recognized, though he may use it as a chance to win back the good graces of Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura.
While it’s a possibility, WWE Smackdown Preview doubts this will happen. Sure, he felt betrayed when they refused to accept him on his return, but he’s also risen to new heights since then.
He’s managed to outsmart and out maneuver his opponents to remain Intercontinental Champion, and he’ll point this out as he’s the perfect champion to face the corporate world.
We think this is where Big E and possibly others like Cesaro and Nakamura will come out and confront him.
This could lead to a number one contender’s match between Nakamura and Big E, with Big E winning and facing Zayn at TLC.
