WWE Smackdown Preview are all set for some fun tonight as we draw closer to TLC pay-per-view and more matches should start being set.
But first, we want to pay our respects to Pat Patterson who passed away this week at 79 years old after reportedly battling cancer.
He was considered Vince McMahon’s right hand man and is credited as being instrumental at helping the WWE become an international phenomena, but his accomplishments go beyond that.
He’s credited as being the first openly gay wrestlers after he came out in the 1970s and became the WWE’s first Intercontinental Championship 1979 and is credited as coming up with the Royal Rumble match idea and format.
Thank you for all the years you put into entertaining us. Rest in peace, sir.

Reigns’ family business
Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens after Owens defeated Jey Uso and called out Reigns to face him, saying he’s not afraid of anyone.
While we can expect to hear Owens continue to call our Reigns to build for their upcoming match at TLC, we think Reigns will spend most of his screen time once again belittling Jey for failing him and the family again.
While another match between Owens and Jey is possible, we expect Otis to be looking for Jey after receiving his beating last week, and with Reigns looking to punish his cousin for failure, we could see a couple of matches.
Big E stepping up
We got a teaser of a probably feud for the Intercontinental Championship last week when Big E gave Sami Zayn a hard time through a painful ten second hand shake following Zayn’s controversial win over Daniel Bryan by count out.
We expect to see this continue tonight as Zayn will rant and rave about Big E putting his hands on him and abusing him on orders from the powers-that-be.
This should be a fun one to watch as both are great on the mic, and Big E is more than due an Intercontinental Championship run.
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode continue their push
After their win over the Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins, Montez Ford) last week, Roode and Ziggler set themselves up for a title shot that could be coming as early as tonight, though it’d make sense to draw it out.
While Ziggler and Roode have been treated as glorified jobbers more than not over the last couple of years, they were impressive as tag champions and hopefully we’ll see them have another run.
But first, WWE Smackdown Preview expects them to have singles matches tonight and next week to build up anticipation for TLC. Maybe even another gimmick match like an 8 man tag team match or something like that.
With Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura off WWE television the last couple of weeks, it’s possible they’ll pay a visit and create a triple threat match.
More Mysterio heel turn abandoned?
After the way the Mysterio family turned heel last week by constantly interfering in Murphy and King Corbin’s match whenever they could, we expect the next stage to be tonight as Corbin promised he’d be ready for the rematch.
We won’t be surprised if he manages to recruit Lars Sullivan for this. We’d also love to see them as a tag team, assuming they could work together.
This is where we expect the WWE will try to undo the nonsensical approach they used last week to keep the Mysterios faces. We can’t see the whole family continuing to act like those they claim to detest without reason.
We’re curious what fan reaction really would’ve been had they been in attendance instead of the piped in cheers and boos for Vince McMahon’s ultra controlled environment.
