Saxon Huxley is coming off a handicap match loss to both Levi Muir and Jack Starz on NXT UK, just three weeks ago. After that match, he looked to beat down his opponents after the bell, but Dave Mastiff saw enough. Mastiff hates bullies, and that’s all Huxley has been since NXT UK started back up earlier this year.
Now Huxley has to deal with someone his own size, as he faces Mastiff one on one! We’ve seen both these men take WALTER to his limits in the past, but neither were able to dethrone the champion. Tonight, one of these hosses
Dave Mastiff Hates Bullies Like Saxon Huxley
The one started off as expected with some clubbing blows from Huxley, with Mastiff absorbing each one. He came back with a headbutt, and threw Huxley off the ropes, nailed a knee to the gut and hit a running senton for a two count. Mastiff followed up with clubbing blows, before Huxley got a handful of hair to get some space. The Lou Thesz press dropped Mastiff, then hit a running elbow drop.
A big boot to the head in the corner, followed by another while downed led to a downed Mastiff hanging his head over the bottom rope. Perfect for a running knee strike! Huxley would nail the knee and head to the top rope, showing he’s a big man who can fly with a big diving lariat for a two count. Things slowed down as Huxley grabbed an arm to wear down Mastiff, and was able to control him for a minute until taking the backdrop.
Mastiff came back with some strikes, an exploder suplex and got a two count. An attempted German Suplex was countered, but Mastiff nailed a lariat. Huxley went into the corner, and took the rolling cannonball from Mastiff. With Mastiff being built like a brick doghouse, this is a killshot and gets Mastiff another big win.
What you see is what you get with men like Dave Mastiff & Saxon Huxley. We got a five minute hard hitting brawl, and it was alright. Both of these men will have trouble reaching up the card, but can fill out the midcard with fun matches until they get another big chance. Match Ratings: 3/5 (***)
