After coming up short in the first ever Female Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart needed to get back on track. What better way to do this, than taking on a team who they beat on the way to the finals, Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae. Blackheart & LeRae have been feuding since before Halloween Havoc, but their fates are simply intertwined like true rivals tend to end up.
Shotzi Blackheart Starts Fast
LeRae & Blackheart started, and LeRae took a shotgun dropkick soon. Moon tagged in, hit a dropkick to send LeRae to the apron, and Blackheart nailed a running knee strike to send her to the floor. She’d be isolated throughout most of the picture in picture break, and Hartwell got a tag only to be taken into the corner and nearly getting isolated the same.
LeRae tagged back in, and was able to get Moon down and hit a running neckbreaker. Hartwell got another tag, and this led to both her & LeRae being set on the middle rope to take a senton & dropkick combo. LeRae saved Hartwell from a head scissor from Blackheart, before Hartwell nailed a big boot on Moon.
A white van drove into the arena, known to be owned by Dexter Lumis, who has taken Austin Theory. This distracted LeRae, but not enough to mess up the concentration of her completely. She’d keep the match going her way, and tag in Hartwell to nail some shoulder tackles.
Austin Theory Is Safe!
Moon took a big sidewalk slam, before LeRae tagged in and applied a submission hold in the middle of the ring. Hartwell tagged in after Moon broke free, only to trap her in the ropes and nail a big boot before LeRae dove off the apron. Gargano was on commentary, but left to investigate the van as we went to commercial.
Coming back, Moon hit an enziguri and was able to tag in Blackheart. Hartwell would be hit with a reverse slingblade. Blackheart applied cattle mutilation, but LeRae broke it up with a senton. We’d cut back to Gargano attacking the van, concerned that’s where Theory is.
In the ring, LeRae hit a superkick on Blackheart, getting a near fall. Blackheart hit a modified GTS, and Moon a recoil, getting a near fall on LeRae. Moon went up top, but was taken off the top rope. Gargano saved Theory, but this led LeRae to abandon Hartwell who got rolled up for a win.
