Hello and welcome to this week’s WWE Smackdown Live Results!
We should have a fun show tonight with Daniel Bryan facing Jey Uso in a steel cage to earn a rematch against Roman Reigns at Fastlane and more!
I’m your host, CP Bialois, and we’ll be back for the 8 p.m. EST showtime and WWE Smackdown Live Results will get to the action.
Segment 1
Michael Cole started the show off by interviewing Daniel Bryan, and Bryan gave one of the best promos we’ve seen in a while as he explained why he wants to main event WrestleMania.
We’re going to see a new, more ambitious Bryan from here on out. This was one of the most intense promos WWE Smackdown Live Results have seen in a while and we loved it.
Of course, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Paul Heyman came out as we headed to commercial.
Segment 2
Reigns told Bryan he doesn’t love wrestling, he needs it but everyone needs Reigns.
Jey then went for a cheap shot, but Bryan was ready and threw him over the top rope.
Segment 3
Montez Ford w/Angelo Dawkins vs. King Corbin w/Sami Zayn
This was a fun match that Corbin won with a End of Days after Zayn distracted Ford on the ropes.
After a brief back and forth, including Dawkins sending Zayn into Corbin, Corbin left Zayn for his match after the commercial break.
Segment 4
Sami Zayn vs. Angelo Dawkins w/Montez Ford
This was a fun match that Zayn had won, but Ford returned the favor and distracted Zayn by chatting up his camera crew.
Dawkins then rolled Zayn up for the win, and Zayn beat up one of his cameramen as his paranoia went to new heights.
Carmella fired Reginald backstage for obsessing over Sasha Banks.
Segment 5
Dominik Mysterio w/Rey Mysterio vs. Chad Gable w/Otis
This was a fun technical matchup that gave us a glimpse of what these two can do before Dominik used a crucifix pin on Gable.
Rey knocked Otis into the announce table and then hit a SitTon.
Backstage, Rollins said Cesaro was afraid of his vision and that’s why he attacked. Murphy offered his help to Rollins, but Rollins told him to get away from him.
Hope we get to see Murphy in action again soon.
Segment 6
Shayna Baszler w/Nia Jax vs. Bianca Belair w/Sasha Banks
This was a fun match with Jax running over Banks on the floor before Belair hit a KOD on Baszler for the win.
At some point, Belair is going to have to come up with another counter for a wrist lock. Three slam attempts in a match are a bit much.
Segment 7
This wasn’t the welcome back we had in mind for Murphy as Cesaro controlled throughout while Seth Rollins was on commentary.
Cesaro and Rollins exchanged mock smiles after the match as Rollins applauded him.
Segment 8
Apollo Crews entered the ring with a pair of Nigerian Elite Guards and cut a pretty awesome promo with a new accent to honor his heritage and demanded a rematch with Big E.
He promised to leave Big E broken and humbled at his feet.
Segment 9
Steel Cage Match – Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman in attendance.
This started as brutal as we could expect as there were few wrestling holds and more brawler tactics.
Jey hit a Samoan Drop off the tope rope as we headed to commercial.
Segment 10
A very good match could’ve gone either way a couple of times, but Bryan hit a butterfly suplex off the top rope and rolled it into a Yes! Lock.
Jey reached the ropes, but they don’t break the hold in the steel cage, and with Bryan cranking back and Jey screaming, Jey finally tapped out.
Reigns didn’t look happy while Bryan celebrated, but we’re good with this. We’re just glad there wasn’t any interference or other shenanigans.
