Barely over a year since he was released from the WWE at the beginning of the pandemic, Eric Young has offered his thoughts to help give support and hope to this year’s released crop of WWE Superstars.
It’s an annual thing the WWE does to help balance their budget or simply cleaning their over bloated roster of those they allegedly feel may not serve the company any more.
Last year, Eric Young was one of a group that had some surprising names in it, and he wasn’t shy about saying the WWE’s system is broken and that Vince McMahon failed them as a leader.
After the WWE did some more of their annual spring cleaning last week, Young took to social media to tell his story of being released and how it benefitted him.
Support comes in all shapes and sizes
It offers hope to those that may be needing some emotional support after being released.

Young stated, “Tonight is a bitter sweet night for me! Tonight I wrestle in the main event of the go home show for the PPV this coming weekend. I have the honor of wrestling Eddie Edwards!
“Eddie is a guy I have always respected and enjoyed sharing the ring with. They call him the heart beat of Impact Wrestling and that it not a gimmick. Him and a bunch of others kept the flame of this company burning during some dark times.
“In short, Eddie is the man and one of my all time favorite opponents and that’s a long long list! Another interesting thing about this match is that it is almost a year to the day of me being released from my former place of employment.”
He continued, “This Thursday I stand in the ring in the main event and put on a match that is as good or better than any match that will air for any company anywhere in the world!
“A bold statement for sure, but it is the truth! No slight on any show, any product, any main event, and certainly no slight on any performers.
“I hope my brothers and sister that were just let go from there positions in other companies see this and know there is a whole beautiful world outside of that place!”

Knowing your worth
He continued on about how last year he couldn’t get booked on any show to save his life, and is now going to have a 5 star main event match.
He closed it out by saying, “One of my favorite things in life is proving people wrong. Man, you were really fn wrong!”
It’s easy to see he’s still not happy with how he was treated, but it’s also showing that there’s life after working in a company and he’s proof of it.
We love watching Eric Young work and can’t wait to see his match tomorrow night. We also wish all of the released talent the best of luck and hope they all land on their feet.
Things are going to get interesting.
