Yara Zaya’s time as a mother has thrown up many challenges, but not those that you may have first expected.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Yara Zaya Cannot Deal With Her Mother-In-Law- ‘She’s Always Too Pushy’
The star of 90 Day Fiancé recently gave birth to her daughter Mylah. While she has counted on the support of her husband, Jovi Dufren, her mother-in-law (Gwen) is proving to be more of a hindrance than a help. During an episode of the show, Yara is heard saying the following: “I want her help, but I don’t want her to tell me what to do.
“She’s always too pushy in telling me what to do. I think she has, maybe, some thinking about different cultures or different mentalities. This is obviously a sensitive issue for several reasons. First of all, Yara went through a lot of difficulties prior to her getting pregnant. So when the news came, it was a shock to say the least.
Not only that, Yara has made a significant sacrifice in order to be with Jovi. She left her home country, Ukraine and relocated to the United States. That may have, in part, contributed to some of the friction. Yara added: “She [has] never been away outside of the U.S., she [has] never been to Europe. Maybe it scares her, [the] different ways to raise [a] baby.
“I appreciate Gwen’s opinions, but I will do whatever I want as a parent.” Although Yara has a very clear take on all of this, Jovi’s loyalties are understandably divided. He is stuck in the middle between siding with his mother or his wife. That is why he has tried to remain neutral as much as he can.
He commented: “Yara’s first reception of all this is, ‘F–k off, don’t tell me how to raise my kid.’ Even to me. I hope in the future she can rely on my mom.” It will be fascinating to see if Yara and Gwen can work out their differences. Although it is important for Yara to take the lead, it is always better to have two people at the helm instead of one.
