Right now, WWE might have the best women’s division in a major company with NXT UK. From the legendary Meiko Satomura and known names from the UK indies like Kay Lee Ray & Piper Niven, to up and coming stars like Emilia McKenzie, Isla Dawn, and Dani Luna? The division has a surplus of talent, which might be soon getting another major name. Former AEW & Stardom wrestler Bea Priestley seems to be on her way to NXT UK.
Bea Priestley Is Back In The UK, and Needs Somewhere To Wrestle
Priestly has mainly worked for Wonder Ring Stardom, where she was able to become the World Of Stardom Champion, SWA Undisputed World Women’s Champion and even won the Goddesses Of Stardom Championships twice with fellow members of Oedo Tai. This is an impressive resume in it’s own right, but Priestley has also worked for All Elite Wrestling in the United States.
It was strongly assumed that she would rejoin their roster in time, but that no-longer seems to be the plan. Right now, travelling anywhere is a pain due to the restrictions in play with COVID-19 still very much an issue. With Priestley having roots in the UK, it makes sense that she has returned there, instead of the United States where AEW runs. Add in that NXT UK is the only major brand running in the UK right now, and it’s a no brainer for Priestley.
Expected To Sign With NXT UK
Due to the lack of work in the UK combined with WWE having interest in Priestley even before her time in Japan, it’s been all but confirmed that Bea Priestley will be showing up in NXT UK very soon. A report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicates that she is on her way to NXT UK, where she will likely be brought in with a lot of hype.
We could even see her walk in and potentially end the NXT UK Women’s Championship from Kay Lee Ray. KLR is currently calling herself the forever champion, having spent over 600 days as champion and beating all challengers. Whoever ends this reign will be sure to be one of the top names in NXT UK instantly, which could be used to elevate Priestley.
