After failing to win the NXT Women’s Championship from Raquel Gonzalez, it’s back to square one for Mercedes Martinez. However, she’s been in this industry long enough to know how to get back on the saddle and climb back up to the top. Tonight, with Zayda Ramier, she looks to build back up to the top.
Mercedes Martinez Looks To Climb The Ranks Again
Ramier would be keen to follow up on a recent win over Toni Storm, but Martinez was able to take Ramier down earlier. When she got a free second, she’d nail a dropkick on Martinez before dropping her with a roundhouse kick to the head. Martinez wouldn’t stay down, and nailed some double underhook suplexes to punish Ramier, getting a two count after tossing her three times.
A dragon sleeper would be applied, but Ramier countered into a roll up. Ramier was caught with a spinebuster, before taking Martinez down with a hurricanrana and moved right into an attempt at a rear naked choke. Martinez blocked with ease, before setting Ramier up in the corner and throwing her across the ring. A running knee below the jaw, and an Air Raid Crash ended this one for Martinez.
Following the match, Martinez was confronted by the music of Tian Sha, as the Capitol Wrestling Center filled with smoke. Martinez is now a marked woman, and Tian Sha is looking to take her down. Last time we saw Tian Sha, they were going after Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter, who were unable to figure out how to even damage the new Xia Li.
Ted DiBiase & Cameron Grimes Have A Million Dollar Faceoff, LA Knight Breaks Up A Touching Moment
Grimes & DiBiase have been going back and forth for weeks now, and DiBiase has Grimes at every turn. Tonight is the Million Dollar Faceoff, but Grimes just wants to know why? Grimes wasn’t always rich, he didn’t always live like this. He starts to flaunt a bit, and gets embarrassed by DiBiase. Grimes looks up to DiBiase, and has learned from him that with enough money he can treat people like crap!
But you should never meet your idols. DiBiase would mention that Grimes and him have a lot in common. He has been putting Grimes through hell to teach him to become better. DiBiase has been looking for someone to carry his legacy, and it’s not all about the money. It’s about performing in the ring. Grimes has it in the ring, but has lost his focus and needs to regain it.
LA Knight would interrupt this exchange, before saying that he should be the one to carry the legacy of the Million Dollar Man. He gets the job done in the ring, has the charisma, and is a perpetual motion machine of badassery. Knight is walking talking gold, and while Grimes wants none of it, DiBiase wants to hear from Knight.
Knight wants to take that legacy to new heights, and DiBiase knows a lot about him. He’s a potential megastar, and has a million dollar body and mindset. Grimes would tell Knight to get out of the ring, or he’ll get his ass kicked to the moon. Knight would drop Grimes with his snap cutter finisher, and leave the ring. DiBiase would laugh above him, and seemingly side with Knight. Could LA Knight soon have the Million Dollar Championship around his waist?
