Since being released from the WWE, Cassie Lee (Peyton Royce) and Jessica McKay (Billie Kay) have applied to trademark the term “The IInspiration.”
This has led to tons of speculation online about it being their new tag team name, and it’s got an interesting ring to it.
We know them best as the Iiconics and their highly annoying ring entrance with McKay hitting some of the most annoying screeching notes.
They were heels and played their roles perfectly and we loved to boo them as such. They were the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and were growing.
Now, it appears they are either turning into a face team, which would be fun to watch them work their skills there, or they’re going to remain a heel team.
If they stay heel, we expect plenty of condescending interviews and promos about how we should be inspired about them.
AEW bound?
McKay and Lee have reportedly said they’re a package deal, so it makes sense for them to secure a tag team name to take with them.
Their 90 Day Non Competition clauses should be nearing the end, and we could see them signing somewhere pretty soon and it looks like it may be AEW.
The trademark was field on June 14, 2021 and covers merchandise, and was reported by Wrestlingnews, Micahel E. Dockins is the attorney on record for the trademark filing is also the attorney for many of AEW’s talent.
He also helped Lee file for trademarks her ring name Cassie Lee (her real name is Cassie Lee McIntosh) in April.
Given that and AEW’s push to improve their women’s division they would be a great fit there, and with AEW in a partnership with Impact Wrestling and NJPW the sky’s the limit.
There’s also some talk that they could go to Impact Wrestling and challenge for the Knockouts Tag Team Championship Fire ‘N Flava have a firm hold of.
That would be an awesome match, and it could still happen if they sign with AEW. There are plenty of options out there and we wish them the best and can’t wait to see them in action again.
