Kim Talks About Her Leaked Sex Tape
Kim’s leaked sex tape, which she recorded with her then-boyfriend, Ray J hit the internet in 2007. It was months before Keeping Up With The Kardashians premiered. People made fun of Kim for years, but instead of pretending the tape wasn’t out there, they talked about it on the show. The sex tape came up during the reunion special and Kim opened up about it E! News reported.
Kim Kardashian Has Something To Say About Her Infamous Sex Tape
The Andy Cohen boldly asked her, “Do you feel the show would have had its massive initial success without the publicity that surrounded the sex tape?” and she responded, “Looking back, probably not.” She continued, “I think that everything happens for a reason and I really try to live like that. Every time there’s a crazy scandal that feels like you can’t breathe and how are you gonna get through this, it always is a lesson. Even if it’s a private lesson, or even if it’s just something that we didn’t know we had to go through.”
Kim also admitted that she is prepared in case she has to talk the sex tape with her kids. “I haven’t had to as of yet,” she said, “and luckily I think that so many years have gone on and so many things have happened positively that it really erases that.” She previously spoke about other moments in her past that she’ll have to explain to them- especially, her very short-lived marriage to Kris Humphries.

Even something good came out of the sex tape, she still refers to it as “something being held over my head.” She said, “That is something that I have to live with for the rest of my life. I try not to have any regrets, but it’s probably the one thing I wish didn’t exist and if I could erase any of the stupid things that I’ve done in life that’s probably it. It’s more so from being a mom than anything.”
Even though leaked tape may have given the show an early boost, its longevity is due to the Kardashian-Jenner family themselves. They managed to spun 15 minutes of fame into making millions of dollars over 15 years. Even though their E! series is coming to an end, new shows form the family will be airing on Hulu, which means more money for the family.
