It’s another Wednesday, meaning another episode of Loki has arrived on Disney+. Episode 2’s cliffhanger of an ending gives us high hopes for what could happen in the next episode. Sadly, it feels like Episode 3 did not add to that. It feels like the third episode took a massive step backwards from this more original story of Loki.
Going from one genre of detective to a completely different one, felt very forced, with many things not making much sense. This episode may have proved that Loki should have been a movie rather than a TV show.
It felt like a filler episode…
The first two episodes felt like they introduced a lot of different elements that expanded the Marvel Universe. The third episode, though, felt like it came out of nowhere and didn’t need to happen.
There are maybe two moments in the episode that expanded what was going on. The ending again finishes on a cliffhanger, unsurprisingly. It does make you want to watch the next episode to see what is going to happen next but not because of this episode but more due to the previous two episodes. It’s clear what they were doing here, but it all felt out of place and forced.
Summary
If you look at the quality of the previous two episodes, it seems like this one took a nosedive. Going from a mind-blowing conclusion of episode 2 that felt like things were going to hit new levels this episode. It felt like they hit a wall and had to buffer onto something else.
The one part that does move on the story of what is happening behind the scenes does give hope to what could happen in the future. But like WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sadly, we may see an anticlimactic finish.
Rating – 7.7
