Earlier in the show, Adam Cole laid out all three men in the #1 contender match. Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne & Johnny Gargano were all his targets, forcing a no contest. He was yelled at by NXT GM William Regal and taken away by security, but found his way back to the ring with something in mind.
Adam Cole Wants HIS NXT Championship Back
Two years ago to the day, Adam Cole became NXT Champion. He’d go on to have the longest reign in the belts history, and should be the number one contender once again. Cole laid out every other contender at once, and therefore he’s the last man ready to face Karrion Kross. Taking aim at Kross, he’d call him an overhyped Musclehead who doesn’t belong in the same ring as him.
Kross would look to disprove that by marching to the ring to stare Cole in the eyes. He understands why Cole did what he did, but it won’t change things in the grand scheme of things. When Kross signed with NXT, Cole no longer was special. Kross was always on the way to the top of the card, set to take Cole’s spot.
Karrion Kross Doesn’t Care What Anyone Wants, He Wants A Fatal Five Way
In the eyes of Cole, Kross needs the big theme song and entrance, the hot manager, all to seem special. All Cole needs to be special is the bell to ring, and then his actions do the rest. William Regal would come to the ringside area to try and stop what was happening, but Kross told him to shut up.
However, Kross doesn’t care what anyone thinks. He wants Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne, Johnny Gargano AND Adam Cole at NXT Takeover: In Your House. Kross is ready to take out the entire field in a Fatal Five Way. Adam Cole won’t get his singles match, but he will get a chance to regain the gold.
