MSK have been leading the charge as the NXT Tag Team division starts to rebuild itself, and only one team can keep up with them in the ring. Legado Del Fantasma members Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde have been looking to claim the NXT Tag Team Championships for themselves, and tonight they have the chance as they face off with Wes Lee & Nash Carter. They’ve already proven they can beat MSK when alongside Santos Escobar, they dismantled MSK and KUSHIDA. Tonight could be their night.

    Legado Del Fantasma Start Strong

The crowd was cheering for Legado over MSK in this one, with MSK getting booed by the crowd for unknown reasons. Lee would start with Wilde, and would be able to take Wilde to the mat. Wilde tried to sweep the legs, but Lee did a backflip and grabbed a headlock. A tag to Carter set up the Bronco Buster in the corner, but Wilde had this scouted and dodged.

Wilde launched a big lariat to drop Lee, before getting Carter in the LDF corner to get Mendoza in. Mendoza nailed a kick to the face, before being suplexed onto Carter. Wilde tagged back in, before losing control of Carter and Lee got back in. They’d cut Wilde down with some strikes, before Grizzled Young Veterans looked to interrupt only to be taken away by Thatcher & Ciampa.

LDF slipped to the outside, but MSK dove on top of them with ease to maintain control. Lee would grab an armbar and slow Wilde down in the middle of the ring. Carter got the tag and hit the floating senton over the top rope for a two count before going into a front facelock. Wilde was fully isolated by MSK until he threw Lee into the corner pad face first, and got a much needed tag to Mendoza.

    But MSK Claim The Win

Mendoza was able to take control in the middle of the ring briefly, before Lee broke free with some quick strikes. Lee went to the top rope but was taken down with a kick, though Mendoza only got a two count. Mendoza pulled Lee back into the corner for a tag to Wilde. Lee would have his legs snapped and be sandwiched with dropkicks, before being punched out by Wilde.

He’d break free of a chinlock from Wilde, only to be dropped hard with a running back elbow. More quick tags from Wilde & Mendoza would pummel Lee, with Wilde getting a near fall off a springboard moonsault. Mendoza tagged in, but Lee was able to counter into a DDT. Carter & Wilde got tags, but Carter was a ball of energy. Wilde was dropped with an enziguri, a superkick dropped Mendoza out, and a PK kept Wilde down.

Lee tagged and was able to hit Hot Hot Heat with Carter, only getting a two count. Mendoza got a blind tag and hit a springboard dropkick to the back of Lee before a twisting suplex for a 2.5 count. Carter broke it at the last second, but was taken out. LDF isolated Lee and had him out on his feet, before hitting a Hurricanrana into a powerbomb, but Lee kicked out at two!

Lee was kicked to the outside, and Escobar drove him into the steel steps behind the back of the referee. LDF nailed the Russian Leg Sweep finish, but Carter broke the pin up at the last moment. Bronson Reed came out of nowhere to crush Escobar, and back in the ring MSK hit their finish for the win.

A chaotic tag team match from the two fastest teams in WWE. Aside from some rest holds, this one was action from bell to bell. Legado had the crowd on their side, but MSK were able to sneak out the win in the end. Not the best showing from either team, but one that brought the energy for sure. Match Rating: 3/5 (***)
