The fact that the WWE has grown stale is news to no one, but it’s good to know reports say Vince McMahon knows this and it planning to shake things up and implement a lot of changes by the end of the year.
Part of this could be the draft after SummerSlam with Drew McIntyre rumored to be moving to Smackdown to challenge Roman Reigns among others.
But the biggest wave seems to be a possible influx of talent for NXT like Adam Cole, Karrion Kross, and more possibly moving up to the main roster.
This would explain the small batches of released talent.
Using Legends to make up for bad storytelling
With Edge and John Cena reportedly coming back, it’s been reported by wrestlingnews.co and that the feeling among the WWE is the good stuff is being saved for live crowds.
If true, they’re chasing fans away with their worst stuff in years so they can save it for the live crowds.
Our thinking is this is counter productive as if fans aren’t happy with what they see on TV why would they care about the live shows?
This is where Legends like Edge, Cena, Brock Lesnar, and The Rock come into play. They know we’ll pay to see them, so the good stuff will probably be them with a few added bells and whistles.
Given the WWE recently let go a writer on the Raw creative team go that was hired despite not know anything about wrestling and later admitted she didn’t know Bobby Lashley’s name doesn’t give us confidence.
Different changes need to be made
On the creative side, we do expect to see some different storylines, though ones that make sense would be a great place to start, as would listening to what the fans are saying.
It’s also been reported that we’ll be seeing new sets for Raw and Smackdown once fans return to the arena’s, and that will give them a boost.
In the end, they can make all the changes they want but if the storylines remain as nonsensical and chaotic we doubt it’ll help a lot.
Maybe if WWE Creative was allowed to write for the fans instead of one person as has been reported time and again that would go a long way to giving the fans something to cheer about.
Either way, we’re interested in seeing what McMahon has in store to reinvigorate his product. It’s not like he’s promised anything like this before and then ignored the fans, right?
