Prince George had a mixed reaction after watching England lose in the finals of Euro 2020 against Italy.

George was in attendance alongside his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton in what hoped to be the time when England finally won a major tournament since their 1966 World Cup victory.
George was pictured wearing a black suit, white shirt and a red/blue tie, which matched exactly what William was wearing. Things promised much. Within moments, it looked like things were going to be on course for a period of mass history.
With just two minutes gone, England took the lead as the whole stadium went into euphoria. In the picture here, we can see him celebrating with William as he has a huge grin on his face. He could not be any happier.
Sadly, that moment of happiness was to be short-lived. In the second half, Italy would equalise to send the game into extra time. With no winner forthcoming, the game went to a penalty shoot-out. Sadly, England would come up short as Italy walked out as champions.
Nevertheless, the Royals had some fond words for the team. At a time when the country is going through troubles caused by the pandemic, the team made the country proud with their efforts. In response, William let them know just how proud the Royals were of them.
He said: “England, you’ve all come so far, but sadly, this time it wasn’t our day. You can all hold your heads high and be so proud of yourselves – I know there’s more to come.” The England team welcomed the words of William and made their own feelings known.
In a statement given on behalf of the team, a spokesperson stated: “As a nation, we were united in a belief that we can achieve something special after the hardest of years. It wasn’t meant to be, but this team is just getting started. They will continue to make you proud.”
