Prince William and Kate Middleton have been taking a balanced approach when it comes to raising their son Prince George in readiness for him to take over the Royal duties in the future.
How Do Prince William And Kate Middleton Bring Up Prince George?
George, for his part, has already made attempts to acclimate himself with the British public. This was seen most recently during his attendance at the final of Euro 2020, in which England lost to Italy.
While George did face some criticism for failing to wear an England shirt, as opposed to the suit and tie he had adopted, it was a major event in his life. But with that, there has to be an element of keeping George grounded.
That is why Kate and William have decided against being too strict. A source told Us Weekly: “The royals are renowned for being ‘stiff upper lip,’ but William and Kate…are moving away from that mentality. Open communication is key for them.
“[But they] set boundaries and have rules in place.” One of the reasons why the couple have decided to do this has been the pandemic. Being a member of the Royal family is a challenge in and of itself.
And yet, by having to do it in the midst of world uncertainty, it has allowed them to give George more leeway. Not only that, they are hoping that George will be able to express his frustrations to the family.
By doing so, the Royals can avoid a repeat of the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle saga, where the latter chose to reveal all to the press. The source added: “[They want their kids] to express their emotions and ask questions to enable them to grow up as healthy adults.”
This approach has been seen in George’s participation in school. He is not addressed using his Royal title, but only by his first name. This, coupled with the absence of extravagant gifts, has been done to make George appreciate what he has.
The source continued: “Kate and William don’t shower him with expensive gifts…George makes his bed every morning… All the children have impeccable manners and always say please and thank you.”
