In a proof that nothing is impossible in WWE, Jeff Jarrett recently made a return to WWE and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018. He would also return to the ring for both a Royal Rumble and a match on RAW against Elias, before settling into a backstage role. This comes after Jarrett infamously held up Vince McMahon for money in the 90’s, proving that anything can happen. However, his time with WWE has once again come to an end.
Jeff Jarrett Was Part Of The Brutal WWE Budget Cuts In 2021
As part of WWE’s budget cuts, Jeff Jarrett was quietly let go from the company back in April of this year. He has been reaching out to promotions for appearances, but still has a non-compete clause in place. It’s unclear if WWE will ever bring him back again, but with his rocky history with WWE being taken into question? Probably not.
This isn’t a shock, given that Jarrett recently launched a podcast with Conrad Thompson, and worked with Zombie Sailor Toys to help produce merchandise. Jarrett has mellowed out in recent years after getting sober, making him a lot easier to work with.
Where Could He Pop Up Next?
With Jarrett looking to get back in with other promotions, we truly don’t know where he could show up. He helped to create Impact Wrestling back in 2002, but hasn’t worked with the company since his involvement with Global Force Wrestling back in 2017, which ended in a lawsuit involving Jarrett.
Jarrett was working in AAA before he made his odd return to WWE, making that a possible destination for him once his non-compete clause ends. Another option in AEW, who has brought in many veterans for both in-ring and backstage roles. While he’s divisive with fans, Jarrett has worked in the industry for a long time. He has a lot of knowledge to offer, and some fans will still pop for him smashing someone with a guitar.
