Prince George has celebrated his 8th birthday, and by the looks of it, he had an amazing time.
Prince George Celebrates His 8th Birthday
The birthday is a welcome distraction from the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle saga that has dominated the headlines in recent months. George, for his part, has been making himself more known to the public in recent times.
Just recently, he attended the final of Euro 2020 as England lost out to Italy on penalties. But aside from having Royal duties, it is easy to forget that George is just a child. And with his birthday, the Royals made sure he had a wonderful time.
A source remarked: “It’s really nice for him because there’s no school at the moment. He’s on holiday. He received lots of lovely presents — a nature explorer set and a cool watch!” And in keeping with George’s love of football, he had reportedly received a football cake too.
This was just the start, though. Several members of the Royal family came out to send their best wishes, and none more so than Queen Elizabeth II. The latter is known for spoiling her grandkids, given that she has eight of them.
In line with that, she made sure she sent George another surprise. The source added: “The queen Zoomed Prince George to wish him a happy birthday. She sent him a lovely gift as a surprise. [He] loves his great grandmother so much.”
This is a welcome time for George due to the difficulties he has been through of late. The pandemic, much like it has done to so many children, has not been easy on him. School life has been disrupted.
Not only that but he was also criticised for the manner of his attendance at Euro 2020. A subset of the fans criticised whether he should have worn a suit and tie like his father. Instead, they stated that George should have shown his patriotism by donning an England shirt.
Regardless of the critics, George will have plenty of time to acclimate himself with the British public once he starts to get older. But for now, we wish him the best birthday. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
