Doesn’t matter if it’s called WWE Network or Peacock where you are located at this point, one of the best parts of WWE’s streaming service is the high quality original content that is shown. From documentary style content like WWE 24 specials to video podcasts, they do their best to provide a pretty constant stream of high quality content for fans to enjoy alongside the massive in-ring backlog. However, a few planned specials for this month have recently vanished off the upcoming schedule, with no reason given.
The Latest Broken Skull Sessions Is The Third Recent WWE Network Special To Not Show Up On Time
The latest program to be advertised and randomly vanish was an upcoming episode of the popular Broken Skull Sessions, a video podcast hosted by WWE Legend ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. It was to feature Kevin Nash, best known for his time in WWF as Diesel or for being a major player in the New World Order faction in WCW. A talk between them is something fans would be interested in, hence the confusion of it vanishing. It was set to air on July 11th, and at the time of writing on July 12th, still no sign of this podcast.
This joins two other recent programs fans haven’t been able to see yet. WWE Untold: The Nexus was the first, set to air over a month ago on June 11th, but hasn’t been seen yet. Joining WWE Untold was the latest episode of WWE Icons, which was set to focus on Lex Luger. There has been zero reasoning given for any of these specials to not air by WWE.
Fan Speculation Has Run Wild
Fan speculation generally has assumed it has something to do with the on-going transition to Peacock in the United States, though this hasn’t been an issue up until this point. A more likely scenario is that WWE is hoping to have a nice week of content to debut around the upcoming return of fans with Money in the Bank. Fans being back could help drive subscriptions, and having a block of high quality extra content could help keep them around.
We can only hope these three specials don’t start a trend of WWE failing to deliver on promoted content, and that they don’t become lost media. Were you looking forward to these three specials? Is this another sign of WWE incompetence? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
