Two very similar factions running an anti-American gimmick formed in TNA and WWE respectively. First was The World Elite in 2009 followed by WWE’s League of Nations in 2015.
Which faction was the better faction between the two?
The World Elite
I couldn’t place whether The World Elite was a major faction or a mid-rank one. It featured a greater amount of former and future World champions than League of Nations. It also had too many members at any given time.
One pro for the faction was that it was around a little longer and was actually involved in the midst of things. The World Elite wasn’t formed for the explicit purpose of pushing one guy although it did feature mostly midcarders and future champions.

Homicide was a former Ring of Honor World Champion while Kevin Nash held World titles in WCW and WWE. Eventually, Eric Young would become World Champion in TNA and Impact Wrestling and Brutus Magnus—better known as Nick Aldis—would become a World Champion in TNA, GFW, and NWA.
League of Nations
This is a rough one because this group was made with the intent of putting over Roman Reigns. That’s the group’s biggest achievement. The other big achievement was Sheamus winning the WWE World title.
Looking at the roster, half would go on to become a World Champion with Alberto Del Rio later winning main event gold in WWE, Impact Wrestling, and AAA. Not exactly the best showing but if you factor in that Impact Wrestling has never actually been at WWE’s level, it’s not as mediocre as it looks on paper
Which Was Better?
Personally, I’m giving it to World Elite. I didn’t even have to mention that they had the better faction name. League of Nations wasn’t even a good concept in execution.
Also, why put four guys in one spot so that another guy can come along and air them out. I mean, that was basically what WCW did with Sting. The Stinger ate well off of nWo scrubs before facing Hollywood Hogan.
This was definitely a weird plan to get someone over because Roman could just have several more contained feuds that would’ve done the same thing. An easy W for World Elite.
