During the build to Great American Bash, Sarray laid out a challenge for the former NXT UK Women’s Champion, Toni Storm. This wouldn’t be accepted, as Storm would leave the NXT Brand to get ready for her debut on Smackdown Live. However, The Warrior of The Sun will be able to get back into the ring this week on NXT, as she faces fellow newcomer to NXT, Gigi Dolin. Dolin has been also itching to get back into the ring, and beating someone as high profile as Sarray would help her to rise quicker on the show.
Sarray & Gigi Dolin Attract The Attention Of Mandy Rose
Sarray offered a handshake, and Dolin accepted before they’d lock up. Dolin had her arm snatched, but was able to work her way out before Sarray regained control with a headlock. Sarray executed a quick takedown with Dolin got free, but Mandy Rose was suddenly on the ramp. The crowd brought a “You don’t go here” chant, but Rose stuck around.
Sarray would get a two count off a roll up from Dolin, before moving right into the Muta Lock in the center of the ring. Nowhere to go, but Sarray would lose the hold before moving back into some kicks. Sarray went for her signature Fisherman Buster, but Dolin would roll her up for a two count.
A running STO would drop Sarray for a two count, before she bridged up. Sarray nailed two running dropkicks, the first to the chest and second to the face, before Sarray dumped her onto her head with an exploder suplex. Mandy Rose seemed to be impressed, but made her way to the back.
This was a short but sweet match from two NXT newcomers. Sarray showed her power, while Dolin showed some technical skills. It’s unclear what Mandy Rose is doing in NXT, but it added some extra interest to this match. Match Rating: 2/5 (**)
This win puts Sarray up to a steady record of 5-0 in NXT. Meanwhile, Dolin has now lost three in a row. Sarray is well on her way to a title shot, but the real story here is Mandy Rose. What is Rose doing back in NXT? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
