Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
Tonight looks like it’s going to be an interesting one as Roman Reigns deals with Edge returning and Kevin Owens faces Sami Zayn in a Last Man Standing Match.
We’re going to get set up and be back at the 8 p.m. EST start time to get WWE Smackdown Live Results rolling.
Segment 1
Edge cut a promo where he sounded like Daniel Bryan as he said he and Reigns knows he can beat Reigns and he guaranteed he’ll win the Universal Championship.
Segment 2
Shinsuke Nakamura w/Rick Boogs and Big E vs. Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews w/Commander Azeez
This started off fast with Nakamura and Big taking it to Crews before Crews tagged in a dejected Corbin.
After being knocked to the floor, Corbin nailed Big E with a clothesline and threw him into the time keeper’s area as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
Corbin dominated Big E until Boogs announced his car was being repossessed and Big E hit a Big Ending for the win.
This was just a bad way to end it. We see what they’re trying to do, but after years of Corbin being more or less a comic gimmick this isn’t surprising.
Segment 4
Bayley and Bianca Belair agreed to a I Quit Match at MITB
Segment 5
Last Man Standing MITB Qualification Match – Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn
Owens took it to Zayn early and bounced his head off the Thunderdome screens three times before Zayn threw him off the barricade and onto the announce table as we headed to commercial.
Segment 6
A brutal back and forth continued and Zayn shoved Owens off the top rope and through the stack of tabled Owens set up on the floor.
Owens got to his feet at the count of 9 and we headed to commercial.
Segment 7
A beyond awesome match ended when Owens power bombed Zayn through the announce desk, a table Zayn had set up, and then on the ring apron for the 10 count.
This was a throwback to the Attitude Era and was just what the show needed. Thank you Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Your efforts are appreciated and congratulations.
Segment 8
Sonya Deville announced Zelina Vega as her choice for the MITB match, and Liv Morgan came out to challenge her like she did Carmella last week.
Copy and paste. Repeat.
It’s good to see Vega back, though
Segment 9
Liv Morgan vs. Zelina Vega
This was a quick match that was already in progress and Morgan won with a rollup pin.
Segment 10
Angelo Dawkins vs. Otis w/Chad Gable
This only took a couple of minutes as Otis overpowered Dawkins and hit a Vader Bomb to win.
Segment 11
Jimmy called Edge out, and Edge quickly brutalized him without any interference from Reigns. After a couple of crossfaces and a spear, Edge told the camera he won’t stop.
This was a weak ending without Reigns there. Sure, it showed Edge to be virtually unstoppable, but it just felt off. It lacked the punch we’d expect out of this segment and we can’t put our finger on why.
